The kids and I took a road trip up to Newcastle to go see Alnick Castle. Our hotel was right in the river and we enjoyed walking around Newcastle but Alnick castle was breathtaking. Parts of Harry Potter and Downton Abbey were filmed there. We also were able to go to the museum of contemporary art where they had a playground exhibit that the kids were allowed to play on. The morning before we left to come home we rode the double decker bus tour through Newcastle so we could see everything. It was s very quick trip but we sure enjoyed ourselves!
